Goose Island Matilda
Style: Belgian Strong Pale Ale
Matilda is made with a rare yeast that suggests a fruity and spicy flavor. There is complex maltiness balanced with a profuse amount of hops.
Pours a cloudy peach with 2 fingers of sand colored head. Above average head retention and lacing. Big time apple skins on the nose with peppery spice and farm yard mustyness. Tasts is of orchard fruit, mustyness, slight grapefruit hops and tartness along with some peach and green apple, plus booze as this warms. Sournesss and grapefruit compete in the finish, along with dryness and tartness. Medium-bodied with subdued carbonation.
Serve in: Snifter, Tulip, Oversized Wine Glass
