france-bordeaux

The Bordeaux region is the more significant wine-producing region in France and the world and is a favorite with average wine drinkers as well as wine geeks and connoisseurs. Bordeaux wine takes its name from the region's main city although the vineyards are not within the city itself. The Bordeaux wine region spreads 60 miles around the city on the biggest estuary in Europe along the 3 rivers, Gironde, Garonne, and Dordogne. Because of the vast area it covers, the diversity of its soils, its mix of climates and combinations of grape varieties, Bordeaux produces a varied range of wines from dry white, sweet and botrytised white, to red, rosé, clairet and sparkling wines as well as Fine Bordeaux, a brandy made from distilled wine. The range of flavors in the Bordeaux wines means that almost anyone can find a perfect match. You are sure to find your perfect match on these pages.
